Hi!

I am making a Christmas gift and need to know the Spanish translastion of:

"I found my heart at a yard sale"

My parents met at a yard sale and I want to put that phrase in a painting. Can you help?

Thanks very much!

yard sale

previous link on yard sale

"Patio de venta" is the Spanish translation for "yard sale". ChaCha on!

For I found I would suggest "Me encontré" because encontrarse has the nuance of "by chance" (tropezar con por casualidad) rather than descubrir or hallar.

Wait for a native's reply.

I didn't know that Q, very interesting :) (the nuance of 'by chance' bit) - Kiwi-Girl, Oct 28, 2011
Well, the word encounter in English can have that nuance. - 0074b507, Oct 28, 2011
People who say encounter don't attend car boot sales. Fact of life and the class system. - annierats, Oct 29, 2011

Encontré mi corazón en una venta de garage/cochera

In México City we call a yard sale as "venta de garage" or "venta de cochera"

Would mi amor sound better? To me it sounds a little as if they are selling leftover meat or organs for transplant if you say corazón...LOL, I know what you're trying to say. snake
