¿Y si abandonamos esta ****** que nos da tanto trabajo?

Ah, ¿sí? ¿Y andar a pata por todo el continente, genio?

And if we abandon this ****** that has given us so much trouble?

Oh yeah? And walk on foot over the continent, genius?

Does that look about right? Gracias.

Well to me that would make complete sense to say ".....that's given us so much work." Just a literal translation, which definitely has the feel of bother, trouble, pain in the whatever, etc.

Jeezzle:

I have heard "trabajo" used as in "Our daughter constantly gives us so much work (trouble)."

Also, "Cuesta mucho" is common and means that it takes a lot of trouble, bother, work, etc., to get something done.

I agree with "work" in the sense of "more work than it's worth".
