what does "usa expresiónes de enlace" mean?

I wrote a spanish essay for my class and one of my sentences said "Yo pensé que sería una muestra de que yo era valiente, pero no era muy inteligente" and my professor said to "usa expresióne de enlac" after pero, but I don't know what she means by that.
