Little bird of the river bank - I know that song by Trish Hinojosa. I think basically she is singing about bank swallows, but I'm not sure. That's from a great album. I've written out a lot of the lyics from that album so if you want them let me know.
My mom is 96 years old and has Alzheimer's. She remembered this song from her younger days. Now, I love this song!
Así me cantaba mi abuela cuando era niño:
When I was a child, my grandmother used to sing to me:
Pajarillo, pajarillo,
pajarillo barranqueño,
qué bonitos ojos tienes
lástima que tengan dueño!
(Little bird on the ravine, you have beautiful eyes, it is a pity they have an owner.)
It is a little bird that lived by the riverside or on a cliff. Pajarillo = little bird, Barranqueño, comes from barranco or barranca = riverside, ravine, or cliff. It could also be a specific place or city, but in the context of the song, it is not a city or place.
