Maybe as a question " ¿eres méxicana?" familiar form " are you mexican?". as opposed to " soy méxicana" I am mexican.

'Eres' is the tú form (friendly/informal version of 'you') of the verb 'ser - to be'.
'Mexicana' is the female form of 'Mexican'.
Put it together and you have, "You are Mexican." (This being said to a female with whom the speaker is friendly.)
