Well, as research, I typed "ojo agudo" into Google, and a slew of documents turned up in Spanish with this phrase..... :( - 001a2987, Oct 25, 2011

Tengo un dolor agudo en el codo derecho cada vez que ya hago demasiadas tarjetas de vocabulario en SpanishDict.

I have a sharp pain in my right elbow every time that I do too many flashcards at SpanishDict anymore.

La bronquitis aguda es la inflamación de las vías respiratorias. La tos constante, la fiebre o escalofríos, el dolor de garganta y el catarro son los síntomas típicos. Ojalá no sea grave con los antibioticos.

Acute bronchitis is the inflammation of the respiratory tract. Cough, fever or shivers, sore throat and running nose are the tipical symptoms. Hopefully it's not dangerous with antibiotics.

My original: Los tiburones tienen mal de la vista pero sentido del olfato muy agudo y los dientes extremadamente afilado.

Sharks have bad eyesight but a very acute sense of smell and extremely sharp teeth.

I used the "sharp teeth" to question the use of agudo for that meaning of sharpness, isn't it only used for the senses?
