"La verdad no se..."

Hello!

I have a messy text I was hoping someone could make clear for me.

First, I'd like to know exactly what it says.

2nd, I'm wondering why the subjunctive isn't used after the "para que".

3rd, is hecho really echo (from echar?) Since it's a text, I can't tell if it's echo (present tense) or echó (3rd person preterit).

"La verdad no se, para que te hecho mentiras! Yo te aviso, deveras."

context: (asking what time she'll be finished with work)

Thank you!

"La verdad es que no sé.... para que no te hecho mentiras! Yo te aviso, de veras."

The truth is that I don't know...to not tell you lies (I tell you that I don't know so that I won't be telling you lies, e.g., I'll be done at 8). I will let you know, for sure.

thank you! I thought it might be also missing a 'no'. So is hecho from hacer? To make/do lies? - Anna, Oct 23, 2011
Yes, hecho is from "hacer." :-) - --Mariana--, Oct 23, 2011
Why isn't it in the subj if it follows para que? .... para que no te haga mentiras - Anna, Oct 23, 2011

It is the verb "echar"

-ya dile que no te eché mentiras

-...las mentiras que te eché

-pá que veas que no te echo mentiras

I did fine this as well --

mira, yo para ke te echo mentiras, no conozco la religion ni sus ideas

It is like -- Para qué te echo mentiras... - Like "What reason do I have to lie... Why should I lie... ? Para qué mentir...?

It is just a phrase you say when you have no reason to lie. =)

So, there is no subjunctive needed since it is not saying "so I don't lie to you... para que no te mienta"

"La verdad no se, para que te hecho mentiras! Yo te aviso, deveras."

Really / The truth is, I don't know... I have no reason to lie / why should I lie to you -- I'll let you know, really.
