"Good for you" in Spanish

Is there a way to say "good for you" in Spanish? I'm going for the meaning, not a word-for-word translation. It's a sort of congratulations, not always the most joyful. If this makes sense, sometimes it's used when the person saying it is genuinely happy for the person, but not with the overall situation. It can be used extremely sarcastically to mean "nobody cares, why are you telling me this?" but that is not how it's used in my context.

Good question, it is not a straighforward phrase. I vote for your question without being abloe to answer it. - annierats, Oct 20, 2011

I'd say: "Bien por ti"

I agree with "bien por ti"! I know it seems incorrect because it doesn't have the word "bueno" in it, but this is the way to say it.

Another example of using "bien" in a situation that may sound odd in English is the phrase "gente bien" or niña bien", referring to someone from the upper class. (probably this one is shortened from "gente bien nacida")

You can say:

Bien por ti.

It captures the situation you just described and it is not really the same as felicidades or enhorabuena as some sarcastic or negative connotation is usually attached to it.

Espero que te sirva.

How about just saying,

¡Y a ti qué bueno!

But for others, maybe not so good...
