Prestao - pringaos - SD Dictionary
A bit of a random question...
The recent question about "prestao" - it's prestado without the d - seemed to answer a question I'd been wondering about. In the current movie for our Spanish film class, "Intacto", (una peli muy interesante pero insolita) the word
Pringaos
is used to describe people as "wretches". Our teacher is Venezuelan, and when I asked her if it was Portugese she thought, maybe. Now I see, it's from
Pringados with the "d" dropped
meaning, "losers - from pringar, to make greasy or get stuck in.
Now here is an odd thing - when I highlight this word here in the the typing box, "pringaos" is displayed as "Scoundrels". So, what is the dictionary base for the text here in the text box, which shows this word, when it does not appear in the SD Dictionary?
Thanks, SD!

I've noticed that before!
Highlighting a word gave me a definition but when I looked it up in the dictionary it wasn't there.
Very odd!
What's very cool is that the computer recognized the word "prestao."
