" To, yegua" from the book, is an interjection used by the character to command or direct a female horse. If you are reading the book, notice that the event is taking place at a corral, The character is trying to approach to the horse. The expression is always between exclamation marks " ¡To, yegua!."
From the book:
The wife lost her baby because this horse threw her, the husband is furious with the horse and wants to kill it.
oops the asterisks in my last post are covering a bad word meaning loose or cheap woman if you get my drift. so thats an extremely slang meaning for yegua.
i dont know about the to' part but literally yegua means mare or female horse. the slang meaning for yegua is **** or old bag and my guess is that's what it means in that context.
