Gusta v. Gustan

Question

Si escribo "Me gusta leer y escribir" debo usar "gustan" porque hay dos actividades, i.e. leer Y escribir?

To be clear, I am curious if I need to use 3rd person singular conjugation of GUSTAR or 3rd person plural when I have a compound subject.

Me gustan las dos actividades, es decir leer y escribir.

A series of infinitives connected by 'y' are considered singular. The same is true for a series of subordinate phrases that star with QUE. The same is true for a series of neutral pronouns. In general if something does not have a grammatical gender, a collection of these connected by 'y' is considered singular. This is not only true for the verb 'gustar' but also for all other verb where this collection is the subject of the sentence:

Thus spoke "mhp"
