Me puedes ayudar = Can you help me Me (the person being helped, that is, me) puedes (conjugated to the person doing the helping, that is, you)

Te puedo ayudar = Can I help you Te (the person being helped, that is, you) puedo (conjugated to the person doing the helping, that is, me)

Me puedes ayudar = Can you help me
Te puedo ayudar = Can I help you

You can tell by the pronouns and the conjugations of the verb poder. You can check the pronouns in the reference section here, and the conjugations in the conjugation tool here.

Is not the correct form "¿Puedes ayudarme?" and "Puedo ayudarte."? I'm still a student as well as a teacher, but this is what seems to be the correct form in Spanish.

They're both correct. The pronoun position is optional.

Either way is fine...my understanding is that putting the pronoun in front is either the same or possibly puts an emphasis on the pronoun. - webdunce, Oct 19, 2011

¿Me puedes ayudar? = Can you help me?

¿Te puedo ayudar? /¿Le puedo ayudar? = Can I help you?

¿Puedo ayudarte (ayudarle)? = Can I help you?

¿En qué puedo ayudarte? = How can I help you?

There are usually many different ways of asking/saying things in Spanish not just one way although certain expressions are more commonly heard on the streets of Spian and other Spanish speaking countries than others

I hope this helps grin
