I need help !

next week I will have an English exam . The problem is that one part of exam is for speaking . Well I am good at speaking ,but the big problem is that he expects us to speak idiomatically .

Now , I really need some good phrases and nice sentences that are used by natives

to please him .

You know I can find many idioms or nice useful phrases i Internet , but I need something to just please him .

Some up to date expressions .

In fact , let me ask you which sentences do you use to persuade your teacher to give you good mark ??????? alt text I have Stress

The main idea is speaking about daily life

There are some idioms that can be used very generally. I can think of at least a few with only a little effort.

Me pregunto ... = I wonder about ... = I scratch my head about ...

I hate [something]... = I can't stand [something] ...

I have no money = I'm broke

Help [somebody] = Give [somebody] a hand.

I got most of these from http://teacherjoe.us/Idioms01.html

A very good site for English idioms. I'll pass this on to friends who teach ESL. - katydew, Oct 17, 2011
Pesta, pesta, you just scratch your head. Full stop, no abouts! It's not a good starter. - annierats, Oct 18, 2011

Number One: Don't say I have stress, say I'm stressed. You can't have stress in English. You can say: I feel a little nervous. Don't say give thanks. Say To thank you I'll vote, or give you some flowers( bribery may, however, not work) . Try to think ahead about what may come up and don't worry about the expressions. At this level it's better to keep it simple and correct, you teacher will be more impressed if you speak confidently and simply than if you entangle yourself by trying too hard. If it's about daily life: I get out of bed at 8 o'clock. I have my breakfast. I take the dog out. I travel to school by bus/taxi/aeroplane. I walk to school.
I like my English lessons best because I have such a brilliant teacher ( This should get you very good points) I hope this is helpful, just think a little about your ordinary days and put it into English and you will find that you're well prepared. Good Luck!

What sort of things do you think he will ask, it is very hard to come up with expressions with no context.

I'm sure we can come up with some if you give us some idea of the topics that will be discussed.

Some that are really in vogue nowadays: I am proactive. I've got a "can do" attitude.

Use advervs like hopefully, eventually, actually, practically; teachers love these.

Never say "like" out of context as in "I was like, I wanted to learn English".

You'll do fine wink

I thin' can do' is very risky, if misapplied it will sound very odd indeed. However you make an excellent point about LIKE. - annierats, Oct 18, 2011
It could sound as in a sales team pep talk, but if our friend here applies it as to being eager, willing, to learn English for example, then it's a safe bet - geouk, Oct 18, 2011
Big risk that she says ' I can do English!'. I don't think she should be too inventive, not yet. - annierats, Oct 19, 2011

Why don't you pick a topic and write a few sentences here and let us help you fill in some good idioms that fit the sentences you use? I'ts always best if you start with something familiar to you. Any talk on daily life can probably use a good phrase like this one, "I like to take it easy" - which means you like to relax.

What do you do to persuade your teacher to give you good mark in Speaking ?

Presenting him with a bottle of fine wine before your exam can be very helpful.

Thank you so much dear friend !

The topic is free , yes . But I am not sure what will happen . My English teacher knows that I am learning Spanish , so he will may ask about that .

Suppose that I want to speak about learning languages , what can I say to influence him ?

What are some good idioms about learning . And if I want to say a Spanish sentence as an example what will you suggest ?
