Hi, I am a beginner of Spanish . I started this in university in January this year but dropped it because of heavy workloads and a month ago, I restarted learning Spanish on my own and now I discover this amazing website! Makes this learning process full of fun! And lets be friends and work hard together!

¡Hola! Me llamo Karis. ¿Como esta? Soy de Hong Kong. ¿y uste, de donde eres?

Don't be offended, but we find it helpful to correct each others errors here.

¡Hola! Me llamo Karis. ¿Cómo está? Soy de Hong Kong. ¿y usted, de dónde eres?

If you are going to use usted (está) do not switch and use tú.(eres).

¿De dónde es [usted]?

If you had wished to use the informal tone then:

¡Hola! Me llamo Karis. ¿Cómo estás? Soy de Hong Kong. ¿y tú, de dónde eres?

The accents are there because interrogative pronouns need them (Cómo) and está needs it to show that it is the verb, not the demonstrative adjective or pronoun. - 0074b507, Oct 17, 2011
