''the lady doth protest too much'' en español?
Does anyone know of a saying in Spanish similar in meaning to the Shakespeare quote ''the lady doth protest too much''?
the saying is used to accuse someone who repeatedly says the same thing of being a liar and actually that the opposite is true.
For example if you used the saying about a man who constantly repeats how much he loves women you would be implying that he was in fact gay but trying to cover it up
Any ideas? or can anyone give a better definition and examples?

Hi crumpet!
Your question is excellent.
La dama protesta demasiado might sound too neutral, the appropriate tone would help to keep the sense of the original sentence
Acaso la dama protesta demasiado is the literal translation, it works perfectly, because the word "acaso" highlights the ironical sense. The sentence can also be interrogative -rhetorically-
La dama parece estar protestando demasiado emphasises even more the ironical sense that you are looking for.
I dont know nothing exactly like that but is this one En boca del mentiroso lo cierto se hace dudoso (in the mouth of the liar the truth is dubious)
