Hola a todos. I would like to understand how to use "sin". For example can I say like this:

"Como el día sin EL sol or should I say " como el día sin sol" ?????

Gracias smile

Como el día sin son

El día sin lluvia

El hombre sin manos

When you say anything like this you never give "la" "el" "los-las"

It's like:

A day without sun - You don't say: A day without the sun when you're saying it wasn't a sunny day. With the it would mean that the sun is gone, not that it's not sunny.

I hope you get that smile Good luck learning!

I would approach it just as you would in English: no need for the "the" unless you are speaking about a specific sun. (our sun versus Proxima Centauri). This seems to be more of a question about the use of the definite article than the use of the preposition sin.

I also think that either phrase would be easily understood.
