A ella le gusta?

A ella le gusta?

I was wondering what is the purpose of having the "A" in front of the phrase "A ella le gusta" and other similar forms. I might just be overlooking a rule or something since im not used to understanding rules of other languages. But the sentence seems fine by just saying "Ella le gusta" It confuses me a alot as to why the A is necessary when using that phrase. :/

I appreciate the help of the community! Thanks for taking the time to view my question :]

It's clarifying who you're speaking about, and basically saying, "To her... is pleasing."

For example, "A ella le gusta cantar," would mean, "To her it is pleasing to sing."

And you can also use it in the first and second person if you'd like: "A mí me gusta..." "A ti te gusta..."

I hope that helps.
