iPad/iPhone app for looking up new words from e-books/websites

Question

I saw an iPad commercial on TV where it showed someone reading an e-book. The person clicked on a word, and a definition popped up.

If I could do this in Spanish, I would buy an iPad just to have this capability. I love reading stories and novels, but I find the process of going and looking up new words to be cumbersome. I usually highlight all the unknown words and look them up later. This is at least preferable to constantly going over to another website to look them up, but still....

Has anybody used such an app? It would be even better if it also worked within Safari, so if I am reading a news article I could get the definition without being too distracted from the flow of the article. I would prefer to see a definition in Spanish as opposed to an English translation.

I often use an iPad to read books in Spanish. Yes, you can click on words to look them them up. The problem is, the dictionary is in English. There may be a way to change that, but I haven't found it yet.

In spite of that, I can still highlight the words, look them up and make a note of them for review. It's a little bit like flashcards. The word is highlighted and then you click it to see the definition that you created.

You should try the free Spanishdict app. I am not sure if this is what would suit your specific purpose but I use it to look up words I don't know in Spanish. If not, try googling translating apps or spanish-english dictionary apps. That might work.
