In the conversation when the person say mucho gusto! the the response is igualmente. I did not understand if the meaning is the feeling is neutral. what does it mean if somebody tell you nice to meet you, you response my feeling is neutral.

Welcome to the forum from one buzo to another. Igualmente means the feeling is mutual not neutral.

To expound a bit more, "igualmente" means "equally."

So, if someone says to you, "Good to meet you," you could respond with "Equally," which means, "It's equally good to meet you."

A snippet of a conversation I recently had with a native speaker:

(me) No entiendo.

(her) Igual.

Igualmente means literally "likewise". Use is in Spanish exactly the same way you'd use it in English.

-Qué tengas un buen día = have a good day

Igualmente = you too

-Mucho Gusto = pleased to meet you

Igualmente = the feeling is mutual

Qué Dios te bendiga = May God bless you

Igualmente = and you as well
