I'm a student taking Spanish classes, and this is how I prepare.
Practice, practice, and more practice.
Never cram the night before! Make sure you make flashcards if you have vocabulary words.
Your teacher should be giving you worksheets regarding topics you are learning. Use those to learn.
It's very important that you learn from your mistakes.
