Está is the third person singular of the verb Estar, and es is the third person singular of the verb ser.

Both verbs mean to be, but each has its own usage, look at this lesson to learn when to use está (v.estar) and es (v.ser).

l hope this helps smile

So in a sentence...when you are trying to write a sentence and you want to write "is" when would you put "es" and when would you put "está"?

You will also see esta, without the accent. It means this and is used to refer to a feminine object.
