Subjunctive form for Tomar

In the sentence: Mi doctor recomendia que tome vitaminas cada mañana. Shouldn't the verb tomar be in subjunctive form and therefore be toma, not tome?

Yes, in this case the verb tomar should be in the subjunctive mood.
But it is! The subjunctive 3rd person singular of tomar is tome. 
However, there is another little problem. It should not be recomendia, but
recomienda,
the present inicative would take the present subjunctive in this case.
