The correct Spanish sentence is the one above "deseo que fueras mío/a".

Deseo que seas mía.

Not sure if you could say "Deseo que fueras mía." and get away with it though.

Whe not? It's correct. The present indicative in the main clause can take the present, imperfect, or pluperfect subjunctive, depending on the meaning. In this case imperfect subjunctive IS what you want. - Jeremias, Oct 10, 2011
Doesn't "I wish you were mine" really mean, I wish you are mine? That's why I would use seas instead of fueras though although I guess it can work either way. - jeezzle, Oct 10, 2011
