what are "las latas"
I came across the word "las latas" but it won't translate on this website. It is a kind of chore. The phrase is hay que arreglar las latas. ???

lata can mean either can or strugle.
It colloquial languaje some people say "¡La tarea es una lata!" meaning that homework is hard and annoying.
but in this case "hay que arrelgar las latas" I don't think it means that since it is not used that way, my first languaje is spanish and I've never heard anyone say that.
It literaly means we have to fix the cans, but I would have to know the whole conversation to know exactly what this person meant.
That says "somebody should fix/arrange/take care of the cans."
Edit: if you want to say something bad with lata...... la tarea es una lata - the task is a pain in the butt.
