There is a question in my homework that uses the spanish word par. As I understand it, par means an equal amount. If someone explained their schedule and said they worked 1 hour, 3 days a week, could you describe their schedule of work as par?

No, that doesn't make sense. You can say "trabaja un par de horas cada semana" if you want to say he works a couple hours a week or you can say that the hours he works each day "son igual."

It also means "pair" like "un par de zapatos" ("a pair of shoes"). I don't quite understand your question....1 hour compared to what? Please explain.

If the reference is to un par de horas, look at a couple of hours. - kmaakheru, Oct 4, 2011
I edited the question a bit, not sure if it clears up my question. - JohnnyK, Oct 4, 2011
