language bar woes

The language bar worked fine on windows XP doing the apostrophe/character thing but it doesn't seem to function on windows 7. eg. mañana comes out ma{nana. In XP I could use the bar in any program including Notepad and even Photoshop. What the hey?

The language bar works the same in Windows 7. Remember, the language change isn't system wide, you activate it for the window you currently have open. In other words, In MS Word I'm typing in Spanish but in Firefox I'm typing using English.

Are you using Alt-LeftShift to switch between languages? If you are, you should be able to see the language change in the language bar each time you toggle the language. Obviously, you can do the same thing with the mouse, just wondering if maybe something was different on your system.

Try changing your keyboard to a Spanish keyboard. That wast the best I could do myself, and I'm using (ugh) Vista.
