Harken en Espanol?

I'd like to express the sense of harken in the following context:

...this bold color which is found nowhere else in the mural "harkens" back to the pain and cost of a revolution that promised a better future.

"...recuerda el dolor y precio de una revolución que prometía un futuro mejor..."

Esentially, what you are trying to transmit is the sense of "harkens back to" and not just "harken".
