Rewriting sentences in the past
How do I write these sentences in past tense I don't understand which words I would change.
No lo hago porque no lo quiero hacer.
Y él no lo hace porque no lo puede hacer.
Ellos no vienen porque no tienen el carro.
Él no sabe nada porque nadie le quiere hablar.
No puedes porque no quieres.
No estamos porque tenemos que hacer otra cosa.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
The first sentence (No lo hago porque no lo quiero hacer) means "I don't do it because I don't want to do it). So.......in the past? "I didn't do it because I didn't want to do it." Now, write that same sentence in Spanish.
Post your answers here on this thread and we'll help you correct them, if necessary.
- No lo hice porque no quise hacerlo.
- Y él no lo hizo porque no pudo.
- Ellos no vinieron porque no tenían carro.
- El no supo nada porque nadie quiso hablar.
- No pudiste porque no quisiste.
- No estuvimos porque tuvimos que hacer otra cosa.
Once you learn the pattern you will be alright you dont want a quick fix you want to understand how to conjugate without always having to refer to the book or to here because all people here are not reliable.
Its just like english you wouldnt say "I have sex last night" would you? Study your past and present. Take one verb at a time and I PROMISE you there will become a pattern. Not 100% but enough. for example the word "EAT" Yo como past Yo comí and Yo Comeré ok so next is Tú always add the "s" after the ending ALWAYS when dealing with Tú..for example tu come(s) for past always use "iste" tu comiste, and future es comerás. see how everything is simular to the way you conjugate it normally. With all verbs you use this rule and maybe that will help you like it helped me.
You change the verbs in most cases but sometimes you dont have to change the verb because the other word was already changed.
Por ejemplo: Lo hare..means I will.(will you come to the party billy?) Lo hare.
but you dont have to say Lo hare when you talk about something else.
por ejemplo I will talk to becky tomorrow. Yo hablaré a Becky mañana. When you change the verb talk to the future then you automatically assume that you will talk to her tomorrow. I use to have the same problem. Word of advice 98% of past and future verbs show a patteren and once you get that pattern down its a piece of cake ok y friend hope this was helpful and keep working at it you will do fine.
ok Hacer
present past future
Yo Hago hice haré
el/ella Hace hizo hará
Tú Haces Hiciste Harás
Nosotros Hacemos Hicimos haremos
Ellos Hacen Hicieron Harán
Ustedes
Before we go to the next part notice the pattern? well I will teach you El/Ella before Tú for me it made more sense that way.
haha... not to be mean or anything.. but is this ur homework??
