Spanishdict vacation!

Spanishdict vacation!

Maybe I have had one too many chelas tonight, but I was thinking it would be really cool to plan a vacation to a Spanish speaking country a couple of times a year. I know that not everyone could always make it, but I think it would be cool to meet some people from here face to face and practice Spanish/English. Im sure we could get some awesome group rates at hotels, resorts, etc. Just thought I would throw it out there.

Ach! And yer a canny laddie! (I can't do Liverpudlian, so I'll have to settle for Sccots). - samdie, Oct 2, 2011
Why Liverpudlian? I'm from the east end of London, hehe. - Eddy, Oct 7, 2011

What a great suggestion! I have a friend who lives in Madrid. She's also a fantastic teacher too. Heidita, how big is your apartment? grin wink

We could actually pitch it as the very FIRST SD convention! smile

Which would allow us to get free meeting space, plus discounts on food, accommodations, and we could all be together for "drunk'n brawls" in the night, etc.

Such a great idea! We're in, who is planning it? My family and I are planning a trip to Peru and other parts near it in South America. - martha-sd, Oct 7, 2011

Grande idea. Debemos ahorrar los gastos de viaje.

Great idea. We have to save the travel expenses.

Why not try it? Those who are interested can sign up and participate. The only thing is that you usually need one person to coordinate the travel arrangements and accomodations and that could be a headache if you are dealing with a large group. It may be better to go through a travel agency that can make the reservations and inform all particiapants about airfare, hotel accomodations and special discounts being that there would be a large group! Very super idea though!!!

I mean why not? We could incorporate learning into activities, sightseeing, etc.It would give a lot of people an excuse to do some traveling too!I would totally be down. I think it would be great.

It really is a great thought, but I'm not sure how the logistics would work - we all live so far away from each other. I'm still determined to buy Heidita a beer or 12 one day though lol - billygoat, Oct 2, 2011
Tienes razón. We would have to work the details out. Like I said, just throwin it out there tryin to get the ball rollin. - pescador1, Oct 2, 2011
The first thing you need to do is pick a time. Then go from there. - Gregory84, Oct 2, 2011
These are just the beginning stages of a plan. Just something I think of from time to time. Just wanted to see how others felt. - pescador1, Oct 2, 2011
