¿Cuándo va al trabajo la sirvienta?

I translate this as "When does the maid go to work?" but in that case trabajo should be in its infinitive form shouldn't it?

Thanks for any comments

I get creeped out saying "the maid", I would say...cuando sale 'la alma de casa'' por su trabajo - maxfield58, Oct 2, 2011

¡Hola!, Mspoone:

Here, you are looking at "al trabajo. Remember that "al" is a contraction of "a + el" which occurs befoe trabajo because it is a masculine noun "el trabajo", or in English, "work".

Because it is a noun and not the verb trabajar, the verb's infinitive has no place here.
