subject pronoun

I don't know how to define if el amigo is yo or ud. or él or ella or nosotros or tú or uds. or ellos or ellas or nosotras...... el amigo means the friend. So I don't know if it's she or he.........

It's a male because el amigo. A female would be la amiga. Its subject pronoun would be ella.

A group of females would be las amigas. Its subject pronoun would be ellas.

A group of all males or a mixed group would be los amigos (that's the case where the genders of the subjects might be ambiguous). Its subject pronoun would be ellos.

Anyway, going back to your example, él is the subject pronoun that you would use if the subject hasn't clearly been established yet.
