Me pregunté si ella supiera lo que pasó - I wondered if she knew what happened

Would supiera be correct here?

I don't know if she knows what happened and I'm wondering. Everything is all a bit foggy so I suppose it is subj.????

Gracias!

EDIT: The correct sentence is

"Me pregunté si ella sabía lo que pasó"

I would guess si ella sabía but I'm trying to find it in my grammar book... what a question! Here's an example I found which is similar: Preguntamos si han terminado. - We ask if they've finished. Note it's not "hayan" - rabbitwho, Sep 30, 2011
yeah... that's a good point rabbit. I was searching in my grammar book and it doesn't mention to wonder - dewclaw, Sep 30, 2011

..Si sabía, si sabría lo que...

Subjunctive does not apply here.

That's the trouble with mnemonics and "triggers". They seduce one into thinking that the whole process can be mechanized. Far better to familiarize yourself with a large number of real sentences (through reading and conversation) by native speakers and imitate them.
