My textbook says, "el Cid venga la virtud de sus hijas en la anfrenta de Corpes, donde pide remuneración y justicia por el deshonor cometido por los infantas en contra de ellas."

I can't find any definition of "anfrenta", and I'm wondering... Is this a typo of "afrenta" or "enfrenta"?

I found the text online...it's a typo of "afrenta," which means to "affront."

afrenta

(De afruenta).

  1. f. Vergüenza y deshonor que resulta de algún dicho o hecho, como la que se sigue de la imposición de penas por ciertos delitos.

  2. f. Dicho o hecho afrentoso.

  3. f. Peligro, apuro, trance.

  4. f. desus. Requerimiento, intimación.

It's got to be a typo because the word is not in the official R A E dictionary.

La palabra anfrenta no está en el Diccionario.

Any guesses as to what it's supposed to be? - Soninmyeyes, Sep 29, 2011
could it be enfrentar? - Yeser007, Sep 29, 2011
Yeah, enfrenta is my best guess so far. - Soninmyeyes, Sep 29, 2011
I would go with that - pacofinkler, Sep 29, 2011

The poem was written in the late 11th or early 12th century (some 200-300 years before Chaucer's Canterbury Tales). It is not what what one would call "modern" Spanish.
