Nos is always used as an indirect object, direct object or part of a reflexive verb.

Nosotros can be an indirect object in a sentance if preceeded by the Spanish "a" as in "mandalo a nosotros" (...send it to us.) Nosotros is used as the subject of a sentance while nos never is. I hope this is helpful and not more confusing... and that I haven't led you astray.
