Toco enfermo - is this correct?

Question

I've heard "Estoy enfermo," "Me enfermo" or "Estoy en mala forma" but never "Toco enfermo". Is this even correct?

I can't think how it would mean anything. Unless "me toca a mi estar enfermo".

I'm wondering if the speaker was using an older form of English and trying to literally say, "I took sick" (like saying "I fell ill").

Like, the bed took fire........ but tocar doesn't mean take unless there is an old form of it that I dont' know of, maybe there is. - jeezzle, Sep 26, 2011
