Estoy estudiando 2.6 de Paralee y no entiendo porque no es reflexivo, mientras que lo es.

reflexive for unexpected or sudden death, unnatural death or the death of someone you were close to

Well if you think about it your mother gives birth to you so it can't be reflexive as you're not giving birth to yourself. je je

As for morirse - I think it's just as acceptable to use morir. This could go either way as there isn't anyone else involved when you die it's just you dying so you can take your pick morir or morirse.
