It's a diminutive which basically means it just makes it cute - like 'little Christina'

in spanish we ad "ita" when we are talking lovengly to someone or when someone is short or when something is small. for example: "¡ven muñequita!" ( I ´m talking to someone lovengly) . "Esa silla está chiquita" ( I men that the chair is small)
