Confusing English Words Challenge 35
Algunas palabras en inglés pueden crear confusion en los principiantes.
Some words in English can be confusing for learners.
This one is to practice the following 4 words: Humiliate – belittle – demean - degrade - all are related to the word "abase"
Both native Spanish and English speakers may answer - but write both Spanish and English sentences.
I would appreciate some help in checking the Spanish sentences.

NOTE - we would normally need 2 sentences, one in each language for each word, to illustrate how the the following are used.
a) Humiliate
b) Belittle
c) Demean
d) Degrade
Futher explanation as to the different meanings may be given.

hu•mil•i•ate - Verb: Make (someone) feel ashamed and foolish by injuring their dignity and self-respect, esp. publicly. To lower self-respect.
be•lit•tle - Verb: Make (someone or something) seem unimportant. To represent or speak of as being small or unimportant.
de•mean - 1. Cause a severe loss in the dignity of and respect for (someone or something). 2. Do something that is beneath one's dignity.
de•grade - 1. To reduce in grade, rank, or status; demote. 2. To lower in dignity; dishonor or disgrace: a scandal that degraded the participants. 3. To lower in moral or intellectual character; debase. 4. To reduce in worth or value: degrade a currency. 5. To impair in physical structure or function. 6. Geology To lower or wear by erosion or weathering. 7. To cause (an organic compound) to undergo degradation.
