Mi esposa acaba de comprar una placa. Lo ha puesto en una posición prominente en la cocina. La placa dice

Un marido retirado es el tiempo completo para su esposa

¿Me está tratando de decir algo?

My wife has just bought a plaque which has been placed in a prominent position in the kitchen. It says

"A retired husband is a wife's full time job"

Is she trying to tell me something?

tratando de decir... Yes, she must be wanting you to clean your room or something :) - Jeremias, Sep 22, 2011

The main difference is when a man retires the " honeydoo" list gets ever longer.

Sorry, but what is a "honeydoo" list? - LuisCache, Sep 22, 2011
It is a list of jobs that the man is to do in the evenings and weekends (or all days once he's retired). These jobs often deal with home maintenence and repairs. The word comes from a wife saying some thing like "Honey do this or that" - tc84, Sep 22, 2011
Oops, I hit enter while I was trying to edit that. I meant to say all day not all days, but I think you get the idea. - tc84, Sep 22, 2011

I think she is trying to tell you that, now you are home full time, you can do half the household chores and your fair share of the meals.

Y E S!

Not only will she be doing all the housework, administrative tasks, and balancing the books, but she'll have you looking over her shoulder!

Poor woman will have to talk Loooooooooooooong walks just to get some time alone.

Nice wife! - Jraider, Sep 22, 2011
If she looked like that I would have retired years ago just to be at home more often. - Eddy, Sep 22, 2011

I hear that men are worry and care free untill the get married while women are worry and care free after they get married. Perhaps she's just recognizing that the pendulum swings back at retirement.
