Conocemos sus necesitas.

Question

I saw this on an advertisement for a bank in Spain while watching TV.

Just last night, I learned that "conocer" is more for intimate or familiar knowledge of a person or thing, while "saber" is more of a knowledge gained from mental effort, study or training.

So, when that bank uses "Conocemos sus necesitas," is that just a marketing ploy to mean, "We are familiar with your needs."?

Technically, since they studied their market and trained their individuals to know what their customers need, shouldn't it be "Sabemos sus necesitas."?

Just curious. Like I said, I suspect they are using that word on purpose, as a marketing ploy.

Hmm.... I get what your saying. Although I would understand "Conocemos sus necesitas" I would have guessed two changes in that sentence:

"Sabemos sus necesidades."

So, I read the original sentence to mean, "We are familiar with what your needs are."

I thought that would translate to "we know what you need," which still raises red flags in my mind. Does that mean that they won't listen and do what I want with my money. Maybe they choose what happens to it.

I think "conocemos" is correct because it's used as "being familiar with or to know a person."

I suggest the advertiser has correctly chosen conocer over saber.
Here is an earlier reply I made to the question

For me the deciding factor is that conocer is used, among other things, for acquiantanceship with people or things while saber is for knowledge of facts or data.
