Share your learning tips--Here's a free podcast
Hello everybody, This is my first post, and how to start better than with a question.
My question is this: A lot of people are trying to learn Spanish here, as am I, and everybody has different ways of doing this. So, what are your secret tips for everybody here to learn Spanish a little bit better/nicer/smoother?

A bunch of cool free podcasts from a Spanish/English couple, including Spanish conversations and some real Spanish slang. Very usefull to put on your I-pod (or other devise), and to listen to when you're in the train/bus/bike/skateboard.
I hope you'll let us know what your secret learning devise is, and apologies in advance if this question is silly.

Well, if you want to be able to read, write, speak and listen to Spanish you need to practice reading writing speaking and listening to Spanish. Learning grammar rules is great, but we learned to speak our first language before we learned to read grammar books. If you know of a two year old who began to speak because his nose was in a grammar book, I would be interested to know about it.
My tip is to study in every way. Listen, speak, read and write. For writing practice, I appreciate this website, the lessons are great too, (when I am at home). Reading is very good, if you are a beginner it gives you the opportunity to look up most frequently used words. I like to learn even while I am driving. The best audio material I have found to practice listening and speaking while driving is a synergy spanish course that can be found inexpensively for 14 hours of awesome material at synergyspanish.com, these lessons are especially great if you are a beginner and have not practced speaking a whole lot. The course features 25 audio lessons. I already know most of the words he uses in the course but it helps to practice speaking, it helped me to be able to multiply what I can say by learning the different ways to use words. You can find sample audios. If you want listening material for while you are driving and you are in beginning stages I highly recommend the download version of this course. They can be transferred to cd's or mp3 players.

My tip:
Make flashcards!!! Put a pile of 20 each week beside you bed and review them when you go to bed and when you first wake up. It only take a few minutes and you will continually expand your vocabulary.
Other than this site. I use lenguajero.com to pratice writing and speaking. I also read and listen a lot. My advice to you if you are lucky to have access to Spanish media use it
