I teach a high school literature class. One of my students' friends wrote this phrase, "Tas mensa!" on her friend's paper while they were correcting each other's paper. I'm fairly sure it is complimentary.

A liitle more explanation: estás mensa

The tas is an substandard abbreviation of estás (proving who is actually stupid)

Is not a compliment, is Mexican slang for You are stupid! Tas is the colloquial abbreviation for Estas; Sorry

Definitely not a compliment, 'menso/a' is Mexican slang for fool.
