How does este/esta/esto work?
So when I was in 8th grade spanish (very simple), I was simply taught that "este" meant "this," "estes" meant "these," "ese" meant "that," and "eses" meant "those." However, I have realized in the years since that it's a little more complicated... I keep seeing the words "esto" and "esta" used instead. What's the role as to which "this" you use in which situation? Thank you ![]()

Keep in mind that demonstrative adjectives (which is explained in the above link) and demonstrative pronouns are different.
