La tontería es mucho mas interesante que la inteligencia, ¡ por que la inteligencia tiene limites,la tontería no !

Sorry I had to change the punctuation to convey the correct meaning.

"limite" instead of "limites"? - --Mariana--, Sep 19, 2011
Mariana, Limites in this case comes from a native speaker, - pacofinkler, Sep 19, 2011
Hmm...still...if it's a single subject doing something "the intelligence limits the stupidity" it's "limite." To say "limites" it would be the "tu" form of the conjugated verb. - --Mariana--, Sep 19, 2011
La tontería es infinitamente más fascinante que la inteligencia. La inteligencia tiene sus limites, la tontería no. - --Mariana--, Sep 19, 2011
Mariana jejej in this case " desde cuando los patos tiran las escopetas" - pacofinkler, Sep 19, 2011
Sorry for being such a pain in the a...oh, I mean, neck! - --Mariana--, Sep 19, 2011
No issue for me Mariana ! i am still a beginner really - pacofinkler, Sep 19, 2011
Yes it is "limite" in this situation - Steve_Rivera, Sep 19, 2011
I am not going to question a native speaker in this - pacofinkler, Sep 19, 2011
I think that the sentence might have been porque Because of intelligence you (tienes) have limits. Limits and intelligence don't have to match. - 0074b507, Sep 20, 2011
Scratch that. The contrast between intelligence and foolishness doesn't work that way. - 0074b507, Sep 20, 2011
By adding the word "tiene" you have changed the entire meaning of the sentence and now it makes sense. - --Mariana--, Sep 20, 2011

Thanks, Lazarus, but that's not what the original post said. It was:

La tontoria es mucho mas interesante que la inteligencia, ¡ por que la inteligencia limites la tontoria, no!

So, my question was: Shouldn't it have been "la inteligencia limite la tontería"?

La tontería es mucho mas interesante que la inteligencia, ¡porque la inteligencia tiene límites!; ¡la tontería no!

"limite" instead of "limites"? - --Mariana-- 19 hrs ago

"Límite" in singular is more like an end point, while "límites" is more like boundaries, so both are possible in principle, although in this case I would personally use the latter.
