Here in Guatemala they say "maní" or "cacahuete."

In Mexico (southern at least) they use "cacahuate."

So, what word is used solely depends on region.

It's maní in my country. And don't laugh , the plural should be maníes but some people, mostly not so educated say "manises"Maybe this is accepted now but many people don't like this plural "manises".
