Please capitalize where required: How, Spanish, I/I'm... "or" instead of "of"... for the benefit of our English learners! "T"hanks & welcome! :) - cristalino, Sep 14, 2011
Thanks, yjdo, for pointing out the problem with the dictionary. I've reported it. - pesta, Sep 14, 2011

There is a host of adjectives that may fit your request:

viejo, anciano, añoso, avejentado, de edad avanzada, metido en años, provecto, revejido, roco, ruco, vejete

...the first being the most popular, having no other context provided....

Viejo/a

I'm not sure why you couldn't find it. Edit: very strange, the SpanishDict dictionary doesn't have it for some reason. It's a good thing to have more than one dictionary. I like this one, especially when I want to look something up the immersion way. That is, look up the Spanish definition for a Spanish word.

I reported the missing 'old' word in the dictionary, to the site's webmaster. It was quickly acknowledged. Thanks! - pesta, Sep 14, 2011
Thank you pesta, I was too lazy to do this. - elainepnj, Sep 14, 2011

The word is "mayor" - just remember the "y" letter is pronounced like our "j" letter smile

That varies greatly by region. It's more common to hear it like an English "y." - BigMike, Mar 27, 2013
