It's not used everywhere. I forgot who corrected me when I used it, I think it was someone from either Guatemala or Ecuador. They said it was only used in Spain.

I just spent a month in Colombia and my friends there use it, too. SonrisaDelSol is correct. Both uses of vale are correct according to my experience. - wafflesandberries, Jul 12, 2015

In the context Paralee uses it, it is an interjection that means "okay". LOL

It can be used like "¡vale!" as in "okay!" (as in "alright!! whoo hoo!")

Additionally, it can be used like "¿vale?" as in "okay?" (as in do you understand?)

I hope I helped!

It means OK, or right, as when confirming or agreeing with a statement.
