It may be a little known fact but Spanish is the third most widely spoken language in the world behind Mandarin Chinese and English. There are also more Spanish speakers in the US (45million) than the population of Spain (44 million)!
It is therefore definitely useful to have Spanish as a second language as it opens up a number of opportunities both in business as well as other relationships. Besides, I learn Spanish because of the thrill in being able to speak and understand a different language.
Because I love Spain and in particular I love Barcelona.
I've just signed up for a Spanish evening class and then I found this brilliant site. I'm hoping it gives me the edge in the classroom. ![]()
Indeed, this question is asked frequently. I often feel embarrassed when I answer because I don't have a very clear answer. Sometimes I glibly answer "porque quiero", or "porque puedo"
Because i wanted to learn a Latin based language.
Italian and Spanish were my favorite candidates.
Italian sounds a little prettier in my humble opinion but Spanish won due to the huge numbers of speakers world wide.
I made a practical choice but i love it anyway. ![]()
Toca hablar español aca (Locombia), decir 'Un cwrwn fwy, os gwelwch yn dda' no sirve...
Because I live in a Spanish speaking country.
La curiosidad es algo muy poderoso.
Hi I am Pika.
I was always fascinated by this language and was waiting for the right time.
Now, in a couple of months I am going to be living in a country which has about 90% Spanish speaking population and so here is my chance ![]()
And once I learned about this site I fell in love with our teacher Paralee
she is such a darling and makes it fun learning experience for beginners like me.
(Oh, my; I can see I'll need a trip to the island, soon. . .
)
