Peru, culture, art, music
Hi everyone. There was so much to see in Peru that I am only showing you very few of the many beautiful places we visited. We saw many museums and beautiful buildings and many examples of artisans and their work. At every restaurant and street corner there seemed to be a guitar and pan flute band. I loved everything about the culture of Peru, especially the music.
Many paintings were in the churches such as this one in the Cathedral of Lima depicting Pizarro's landing in Peru.
Weavers demonstrate their art at the Alpaca factory in Chincherero.
Many varieties of corn at a Chicha house (a place that makes the corn beer).
One of the many bands that was always appearing at almost all of our stops.
This was a really fun game called the frog game or juego de sapo. It is said to have ancient Incan roots. I hear that it is really fun after a few glasses of Chicha.

i love the weaving "factory" probably doing it that way since Noah was a pup.
And how about that corn ,I have only seen about 4 varieties growing here .
The pipes are not my favourite they always sound like a man singing who
needs to clear his throat , probably the wrong register for me , but they are
distinctive and colourful. Great pictures Sandy you obviously had a great time
you must return . ![]()
what part of peru is each one taken at? is the first one from a church? How about the second and third one?
Great pictures, Sandy! That one of Pizarro looks just like him
The last picture looks almost like a Maryland suburb of D.C. I used to live in. I always wondered how they got the tortillas red or blue. Now I see what kind of corn they must use.
I'm glad you are back, and glad you had a great trip.
