Direct and Indirect Object pronouns

Would the Direct object pronouns be used more in most situations?

I don't know if a yes or no answer would have any meaning. Spanish does have more ways to use an indirect object pronoun than English does. For example with the gustar-like verbs, those intransitive, passive (dative of interest) constructions...Se me olvidaron las llaves, and "redundant" i.o.p.'s.

The glaring difference between English and Spanish concerning object pronouns is that in English when we have an i.o. we normally also have a d.o. Spanish does not have that restriction.

If you wish to include reflexive pronouns in with direct and indirect object pronouns (which grammatically they are) then I would say "no", reflexive pronouns are used more than direct object pronouns, but you would have to probably get an answer from someone like Lazarus who pays attention to such things to get a reliable answer.
